TxCAE's Beginning

The Texas Center for Academic Excellence was founded in 2000 after a generous grant form the United States Department of Education was granted to Sam Houston State University. The TxCAE Staff is dedicated to helping students learn.

TxCAE's Mission

The mission of the Texas Center for Academic Excellence is to assist students who perform below average on the TAKS - Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Test. We do this with online tutorials that are based on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Strategies. The emphasis is on, but not limited to bilingual students.
